October 2007 - The Howicks Nottinghamshire England
Thanks for an excellent holiday this year; the whole family thoroughly enjoyed it. Transfers to and from the airport were slick and convenient and the accommodation and food were excellent. Running across the top of an Olympic ski jump was a real experience. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the group bike ride to Annecey; riding on the traffic free cycle tracks has really boosted their confidence and improved their bike handling skills no end. Having the support vehicle gave them the reassurance to keep going, they would never have dreamed that they could cycle over 50 miles!
Swimming in the crystal clear waters of Bozel Lake and Lake Annecy really was superb, and something that you just cannot experience in this country (the water even tasted nice!).
The highlight for me though, was getting out on the bike and experiencing some of the monster climbs and descents previously used in the Tour de France.......Some unfinished business there though; we will definitely be back next year!
May 2008 - The Kearneys Nottinghamshire England
Tri La Tania was a great training holiday. The scenery is breathtaking - as are the hill climbs! Food and accomodation were superb and we were warmly welcomed by our hosts. I returned feeling relaxed and invigorated - thanks to all for an unforgetable time.
Summer 2008
Thanks to John Broadbent for this clip of the infamous Bouc Blanc Race (he's a BBR stalwart!) - a 6km gentle hill run/jog covering 600 metres in altitude. This is a great race, well supported by the village, and a must try event for all abilities; made more attractive with the thought of great food and drink at the fab Bouc Blanc mountain restaurant at the finish line!
August 2009
The gruelling 6km fell race from La Tania to the Bouc Blanc restaurant! There was a bit of mess up this year - the weather was abnormally poor whilst the time keepers were apparently too hung over to get out of bed to officiate the race! This led to confusion about the race going ahead and so a group of Brits decided to run the race anyway, soon followed by some good local runners. But in any case, the restaurant was very welcoming at the finish and gave everyone some great momentos.
A few days later, and there were some familiar faces for the 5km race from La Praz (no one we knew did the 16km fell race but it did look like an awesome route!). It was a great festival of running on the day, especially for John and Andrea who won prizes in their categories.
